Gates of Olympus Super Scatter is an online slot with a 6x5 grid. Traditional paylines are swapped out for a scatter-pay mechanic, so you win as soon as you land 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the board, regardless of position. This game series doesn't have a wild symbol, which means the symbols need to match exactly.
The theme stays true to Greek mythology, built around Zeus, the king of the gods, and his lightning bolt. Within the franchise, this is the third release and also the most ambitious one, with the highest win ceiling.
There aren't many differences between the 2021 original and Pragmatic Play's Gates of Olympus Super Scatter. The grid stays the same size, there's still no wild symbol, you win through scatter-pays, and you get the same mythological theme.
The difference lies in the potential. The original Gates of Olympus slot tops out at a payout of 5,000x your stake, while this game pushes that up to 50,000x your stake. And as the name suggests, there are special scatters that trigger high instant payouts, ones that pay out more than the regular scatter wins.
First, set your stake, somewhere between €0.20 and €10 per spin. Then click the spin button to get the reels moving. You win as soon as 8 or more identical symbols show up anywhere on the grid, so there's no need to think about paylines. Want to try it out first? A tumble follows after that, more on this further down. Keep an eye out for regular and Super Scatters too, since they set off some extra action.
Three mechanisms define the character of this game. We break each one down below.
When 1 to 4 Super Scatters land during play, you're in with a chance of an instant payout. For this, they need to appear alongside other scatters, until you have at least 4 in total. The more Super Scatters you land, the higher the payout climbs, topping out at 50,000x your stake as the top prize.
If your grid shows 4 or more scatters at the end of a spin, you trigger 15 free spins. During the round, any multipliers you collect stack onto a running total. That progression is what makes the round so valuable, since a growing multiplier can give consecutive wins a serious boost.
After a payout, winning symbols disappear and new ones drop into their place. That means a single spin can trigger a chain reaction of multiple consecutive wins. Since you can also pick up a fresh multiplier each time, a single stake can end up delivering something rather nice.
Would you rather not wait to land 4 or more scatters naturally? You can buy straight into the Bonus Round using the buttons above the game board: for 100x your stake, you jump straight into the Bonus Round, and for 500x your stake, you also boost your odds of landing Super Scatters during that round.
Yes, Gates of Olympus Super Scatter can be played in demo mode at Starcasino, with no registration or deposit required. The demo version uses the same game mechanics and RTP configuration as the real-money version, so you can explore the volatility and features first. The “Play for Free” button on the game page launches demo mode straight away, with virtual credit standing in for real money. Want to get a feel for this game's high volatility first? You can do that risk-free, before you ever stake real money.
The highest-paying regular symbols are Zeus's four attributes, with the crown as the top symbol overall: 12-30 symbols pay €100.00, 10-11 symbols pay €50.00, and 8-9 symbols pay €20.00 (at a €2.00 stake).
The paytable is made up of nine regular symbols: four higher-value Zeus symbols (crown, hourglass, ring and goblet) and five coloured gems, alongside the separately paying Scatter symbol, which can appear on any reel. The Scatter symbol itself pays from as few as 4 (€6.00), rising to €200.00 for 6 or more. For the biggest wins from regular symbols, crown combinations count for the most, while the gems pay out more often, but in smaller amounts.
Gates of Olympus 1000, Gates of Olympus Dice and Fortune of Olympus are three natural follow-ups to Gates of Olympus Super Scatter. All three were developed by Pragmatic Play within the same Greek Gods universe, but each brings its own angle, a higher payout ceiling, a different style of play, or a fresh take on winning.
Gates of Olympus 1000 keeps the same scatter-pay mechanic but raises the payout potential. Gates of Olympus Dice swaps the reels for a dice-based format within the same theme. Fortune of Olympus works with a bigger 7x7 grid and cluster wins from 5 connected symbols, instead of scatter-pay from 8 symbols.
